MATC to Partner with MAWIB on Green Capacity Building Grant
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (Nov. 20, 2009) – Milwaukee Area Technical College is one of several organizations that will partner with the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB) on a U.S. Department of Labor grant of more than $98,000 to strengthen the Milwaukee Builds program.
Milwaukee Builds is a program partnership that places low-income, unemployed individuals into work, hands-on training and education. Grant funds will add solar installation and weatherization training to Milwaukee Builds.
“MATC is uniquely prepared to provide the high-quality education and training, especially in the area of green-collar jobs, that are essential to Milwaukee Builds.” said MATC Interim President Dr. Vicki J. Martin. “Partnering with the MAWIB on Milwaukee Builds will help individuals seeking employment and will help make the greater Milwaukee area more energy efficient.”
